VARANA WOMEN

Sophie Liverman: Sommelier at Sessions Arts Club

Introducing Sophie Liverman, sommelier at Sessions Arts Club, shot by Sam Walton Studio for our #varanawomen series wearing our signature cashmere in bamboo green.

The Arts Club is an urban sanctuary that sits in the old judges’ dining room at Sessions House, a grand Grade II listed building in Clerkenwell. Built on a studio ethos forming a restaurant, bar, art and performance space that moves and shifts with the seasons via its curated collective program.

Sophie has an eye on the unique, the esoteric and the unusual. At Varana, our approach to design is characterised by the warm sensuality that working with the hand provides, creating distinctive pieces, crafted to last a lifetime.

Connected Experiences

"I love the interactions with guests, wine makers, wine collectors, and others in hospitality. I appreciate a person who’s labour of love is to grow and nurture, and the end product is the most beautiful bottle of wine."

"It is my aim for every person who walks through the door to be greeted with the perfect bottle for that day, that night, to accompany our remarkable food. Old wisdom and classic service to create for every guest a new experience.

I love the interactions with guests, wine makers, wine collectors, and others in hospitality. I appreciate a person who’s labour of love is to grow and nurture, and the end product is the most beautiful bottle of wine.

The bottle of wine shows the personality of a person even though you have never met them and they are hundreds of miles away. Making wine and tasting wine is creativity. I feel creative when I learn and talk about it."
