Introducing Kate Neal, co-founder of Commune, shot in Bruton, Somerset by Sam Walton Studio for our #varanawomen series. Kate wears a selection of pieces from our Rabari and winter collections.
Commune is a self-care brand forged through a sense of community and togetherness, with a commitment to natural ingredients and ancient herb-lore.
Kate founded Commune with her husband Rémi Paringaux as a direct reflection of their personal and professional experiences, having both had long spanning careers in luxury fashion, sustainability, wellness, art and design, as well as undertaking the study of natural perfume. With Commune, they sought to create a return to simpler, more harmonious ways of living that start with the self and ultimately extend into our surroundings and communities, bringing people together and celebrating the world at our doorstep.
Like Varana, Commune strives to leave the world better than they found it. The self care brand was founded on the idea that many small actions can add up to create meaningful change.
“With Varana, there’s a quality and luxury to the garments which transcend fashion, timeless, season-less pieces which are understated, confident and made using the finest of fabrics.
Cashmere, wool and silk are my favourite materials, and these pieces are of the highest quality. Having worked in fashion for many years I’m obsessed with how garments fit and feel.”
